In “Seconde”, common lessons allow the consolidation of fundamental learning.
With a French language examination at the end of “Premiere”, four final tests and a part of continuous assessment, the baccalaureate is at the same time, simpler in its organization, more readable and fair because the evaluation of the work of two years is no longer based on a few days at the end of Terminale. This baccalaureate is an "equality baccalaureate" because from now on all students will benefit in “Premiere” and in “Terminale” from a broad base of common knowledge: French, Philosophy in “Terminale”, History Geography, Moral and civic education, two languages, Physical education and sports.
It will give all “Lycée” students the knowledge they need to live and interact in the 21st century.
This baccalaureate is a "Baccalaureate of success" since “Lycée” students will be able to choose three specialty courses in “Première” then two in “Terminale”, characterized by a reinforced hourly volume to give the students enough time to deepen and progress in these disciplines they have chosen and which fascinate them. It is also a fair baccalaureate since “Lycée” students will be supported in their choices and a time dedicated to orientation will allow them to build their course according to their tastes, their motivations and their projects. Similarly, the preparation of a final oral, one of the four tests taken in “Terminale” along with “Philosophy” and the two specialty tests, will be an opportunity to work on this fundamental skill to succeed in their personal and professional life.
To raise the scientific level of students, mathematics will be reintroduced in the common core as of September 2023.
