In 2019, after revitalizing CPF in Beirut into one of the most renowned and prestigious French schools in Lebanon, the Présence Protestante Française au Liban (PPFL) aimed to expand its educational offerings to a new Lebanese region through the acquisition of Montana International College, which later became known as Collège Protestant Français Metn.
This acquisition allows PPFL to promote its educational values not only within the French educational system, but also within the English academic framework.
The founding principle of the CPF schools is to unite people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and religions, fostering collaboration and a profound sense of belonging within the CPF family.
In the French section, CPF Metn was accredited by the AEFE for all levels starting PS to Terminale. Following the accreditation, CPF Metn became a "Coventionné" school in 2021.
In the English section, CPF Metn became recognized as an International Baccalaureate World School (IB), establishing a fundamental milestone. This was followed by the approval of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) in November 2024, further extending its dedication to inclusive international education.
Since July 2025, CPF Metn is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme and pursuing authorization as an IB World School.
The core significance of the IB is essential in developing inquisitive, knowledgeable, and caring young pioneers dedicated to cultivating a more peaceful and interconnected world built on understanding and respect. IBO
The number of students has been evolving steadily since 2019. Since the beginning of the 2022 academic year, this number has experienced an exponential growth compared to the number of enrollment in September 2021, exhibiting a 95.5 % increase across the school. These figures are the result of the extensive efforts of the personnel, administration, and financial investments stemming from the support of PPFL, partnerships, and the trust of our families.
*Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate can offer any of its four academic programmes: The Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme or the IB Career-related Certificate (IBCC). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.
